The House Judiciary Committee heard today from State Representative Eric Turner (R-32), who said many states with positive economic development numbers have a similar amendment on the books. Turner authored the amendment. Major employers including Indiana University and Columbus-based Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) have spoken against the proposal. If the committee passes the proposal, it would head to the House floor for a vote.
Opponents of the amendment are planning a rally this evening in Indianapolis.
