An Irish pub with two locations in Tippecanoe County is set to open in Indianapolis' Mass Ave neighborhood. Nine Irish Brothers partner Matt Rose says the restaurant will be “part of the Mass Ave resurgence.” He says the neighborhood's demographics and atmosphere make it ideal. Management hopes to open the restaurant in April. Nine Irish Brothers currently has locations in Lafayette and West Lafayette. Rose says the owners were hoping to open the Indianapolis location before St. Patrick's Day, but bad weather postponed those plans.

Rose says the new restaurant represents a “significant investment,” and will likely result in approximately 40 jobs. He says other Big Ten Conference cities have shown interest in Nine Irish Brothers, but says the restaurant is “not interested in being overly aggressive” with expansion.

The restaurant was named the Greater Lafayette Commerce's 2010 Small Business of the Year.
