Kroger Completes Indy Store Renovation

Indianapolis, Ind. — Kroger Central Division celebrated the grand reopening of the company's store at 3361 Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis, Indiana at a celebration at 8:30 AM this morning.
The total economic investment in this store is $1.9 million. Kroger's project was led by Project Manager Alex Edge. This investment strengthens Kroger's economic and workforce commitment to Indianapolis.

Andrew, who has five years of experience in the grocery business, did an exceptional job in keeping his store team focused on serving our customers during construction. All of us are very proud of his dedicated community service and leadership. I also am very honored to recognize the longest-serving associate in this Indianapolis store, Marvin Wolfe, who has worked for Kroger since 1970 (43 years). All of us are very proud of his dedicated service and leadership in mentoring newer associates.”

During the grand reopening event, Kroger made $1,000 donations to our neighbors from Community Caring and Sharing, $1,000 donations to our neighbors from Family Development Services and $500 to Gleaners Food Bank in honor of chairman of The Kroger Co., Dave Dillon, who announced his retirement as CEO. Mr. Dillon's leadership of the company has included a dramatic increase in hunger relief; the launch of the Perishable Donation Partnership and Kroger's being named the most generous company in America. A second donation to Gleaners was announced, representing $12,323 in cash donations by Kroger associates and customers during the annual “Share Your Feast” food drive. Results of food donations have not been finalized and will be announced later.
