‘SNL’ Adds Hoosier to Cast

Sasheer Zamata will join the cast of “Saturday Night Live” as a featured player. Our partners at WTHR-TV, which airs the show in Indianapolis, report Zamata is a 2004 graduate of Pike High School.
She arrives as the iconic television show is under criticism for a lock of diversity on the cast.
Zamata will be the first black female cast member since 2007.
She is a University of Virginia graduate.

NEW YORK – “Saturday Night Live” adds Sasheer Zamata to the cast as a featured player. A graduate of the University of Virginia, Zamata trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York.
“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
