Auburn-based funeral supply company Messenger has acquired Deaton-Kennedy Co. in Illinois. Messenger President Kevin Keane says the move will allow the companies to provide “more robust” services.

Messenger, a leading provider in funeral stationery and memorial solutions, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Deaton-Kennedy Company.

Deaton-Kennedy Company, a family owned business since 1928, has long represented excellence in both the products and services they provide. “We are very excited about adding the Deaton-Kennedy 'family' to our Messenger 'family,' commented Kevin Keane, President of Messenger. “The values and tradition rooted in the Deaton-Kennedy Company mirror our guiding principles and combining the strengths of both our companies allows us to provide an even more robust and comprehensive solution package to our customers.”

All sales and customer service inquiries will be handled by the respective companies at this time.
