The 100th Indianapolis Auto Show begins Thursday at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. Nearly 40 global automobile manufacturers will display more than 400 vehicles during the weeklong event. December 2, 2013

News Release

Indianapolis, IN – Tens of thousands of consumers are expected to attend the 100th Indianapolis Auto Show. America's second-longest running auto show returns to the Indiana Convention Center Thursday, December 26, 2013 through Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Thirty-nine automobile manufacturers from around the world will display their 2014 model automobiles, SUVs, light duty trucks and luxury vans in more than 400,000 square feet of exhibit space.

In addition to all the new model vehicles, auto manufacturers will feature their specialty vehicles and more. Consumers will be able to speak with automotive product specialists surrounded by over 400 vehicles displayed in spectacular exhibits.

Jeep is bringing Camp Jeep, a unique, interactive, off-road experience, to consumers attending the 2014 Indianapolis Auto Show, December 26, 2013 thru January 1, 2014, at the Indianapolis Convention Center.

Camp Jeep is the ultimate indoor off-road driving test. The 25,000-square foot exhibit will give auto show attendees a chance to experience the extreme off-road capabilities of Jeep vehicles without leaving the show floor.

“We have created this unique auto show opportunity to provide our customers with a memorable experience that no other manufacturer can offer,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “The iconic Jeep brand offers an adventurous lifestyle and vehicles that deliver legendary 4×4 capability. Attendees will enjoy the Jeep experience first-hand on the show floor this weekend.”

The course will be comprised of several obstacles that simulate some of the rigorous testing that Jeep vehicles endure before customers get behind the wheel. This provides consumers a first-hand look at the capability standards of Jeep vehicles for Ground Clearance, Traction, Stability, Articulation and Suspension.

The Jeep Test Track is an interactive adventure zone where professional 4×4 drivers allow riders to experience a Jeep's on and off-road capabilities. Product specialists will chauffeur participants in a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, Wrangler Rubicon and Grand Cherokee to allow consumers to experience the legendary capabilities of a Jeep. Camp Jeep features a thrilling, “can't miss” hill climb where passengers experience the Jeep's traction capabilities while climbing the 14-foot high, 35 degree Jeep Mountain, the icon of the ride. Riders are over 18 feet off the ground when they sit on top of Jeep Mountain. The track includes a 12 x 25-foot section of terrain simulating fallen logs measuring 18 inches in diameter and a 30-degree wedge to demonstrate the vehicle’s body articulation where attendees will experience the adrenaline rush of looking nearly straight up or straight down as they navigate the obstacle. Each ride is about 5 minutes long. Camp Jeep will be open during all hours of the Indianapolis Auto Show and any additional media requests beginning December 26.
