News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The long wait for Indy Eleven Professional Soccer's official debut in the North American Soccer League (NASL) will finally end on Saturday, April 12, when Indiana's expansion outfit will host the Carolina RailHawks at IUPUI's Michael A. Carroll Stadium to start play in the NASL 2014 Spring Season.

Indy Eleven's kickoff against Carolina is part of the team's nine-game Spring schedule, which was unveiled earlier today by the NASL. The Spring slate will include five games at Carroll Stadium and four away matches, all of which will be contested on Saturdays. All five home games at Carroll Stadium will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and be broadcast live across Central Indiana on MyIndy23. Ticket on-sale information for Indy Eleven’s home schedule will be announced by the club in January.

"This is a day that every Indy Eleven fan has been waiting for, and we are thrilled there are finally dates our supporters can circle on their calendars," said Indy Eleven President and General Manager Peter Wilt. "I'm happy that all five games in this Spring season will be on Saturday nights, and it's great that we start with two home games."

The shortened nine-week spring campaign will run through June 7, to allow for a mid-season break to align with the FIFA World Cup. The winner of the first half of the NASL season will qualify for and earn the right to host NASL Soccer Bowl 2014.

Visit NASL.com to see the full NASL 2014 Spring Season schedule, which will run through June 8 to allow for a mid-season break to align with the FIFA World Cup. Information surrounding the NASL's 18-game Fall Season will be distributed in the coming weeks. Like in 2013, the victor of the NASL’s Spring Season will host the champion of the Fall Season in NASL Soccer Bowl 2014 next November to determine the league's champion.

"The fact is that our Spring 2014 season will be one of the most intense and competitive competitions in global sport with nine matches determining the spring champion and host of NASL Soccer Bowl 2014," said Chairman of the NASL Board of Directors Aaron Davidson. "The coaches and players know that they can't play for draws whether they are playing away or at home because winning the championship will likely come down to one or two points. I’m excited to see our teams leave it all out on the field in this sprint to the Spring Championship ahead of the World Cup break."

Just 112 days remain until Indy Eleven's April 12th opening tilt against the RailHawks, which won last season's supporters-awarded Woosnam Cup as the league's overall points leader and features the reigning NASL Golden Boot winner, forward Brian Shriver. Indy Eleven will stay at home for its second match the following weekend on April 19, when the Tampa Bay Rowdies will bring their high-octane attack into the Circle City.

Indy Eleven will hit the road for its next pair of matches, first heading south to take on the NASL's other Florida-based squad, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, on April 26, before trekking north to square off with Minnesota United FC on May 3. Mid-May will feature a two-game homestand against the league's Canadian contingent, starting with a May 10 clash with FC Edmonton and followed by a "NASL Class of 2014" match-up against expansion brethren Ottawa Fury FC.

The final third of the Spring schedule gets underway on May 24 with a high-profile Memorial Day Weekend trip to Long Island for a date with the defending Soccer Bowl Champion New York Cosmos. Indy Eleven will return to Indiana on May 31 for its final home contest of the Spring campaign against the San Antonio Scorpions before concluding the nine-game slate on the road on June 7 against last season's Spring Champion, the Atlanta Silverbacks.
