Evansville-based Springleaf Holdings Inc. (NYSE: LEAF) has named Ronnie Lott to its board of directors. Lott players 13 years in the NFL and is enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He previously served as a managing partner of a private equity firm. December 6, 2013

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Springleaf Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LEAF) announced today that it has appointed Ronald (Ronnie) Lott as a director. Mr. Lott is a business owner and management consultant with deep experience in financial services, an active philanthropist and community leader, and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

As a partner and owner, Mr. Lott has overseen business, sales and financing operations for Toyota, Mercedes-Benz and Chrysler dealerships in California. In 1999, he co-founded HRJ Capital, a private equity investment management firm where he served as a managing partner through 2009. He sits on several advisory boards and serves as a consultant for TVU Networks and H. Barton Asset Management Group.

Mr. Lott is a distinguished philanthropist, mentor and role model deeply committed to fighting poverty and serving families and children in need. In 1989, he founded All Stars Helping Kids, which has raised more than $20 million to support disadvantaged youth in the San Francisco Bay Area and throughout the nation. Mr. Lott also serves on several non-profit boards, most notably the Tipping Point Community and Champion Charities, an organization he co-founded in 2004.

Mr. Lott's 13-year pro football career included four Super Bowl titles with the San Francisco 49ers and 10 Pro Bowl appearances. He retired in 1994 as one of the most celebrated defensive players in NFL history.

Mr. Lott graduated from the University of Southern California in 1981 with a degree in public administration. In 2002, Mr. Lott was voted into the Golden Gate Chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.
