News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Mark Herrmann, former Purdue University All-American and National Football League (NFL) quarterback, has been named coordinator of football operations at St. Vincent Sports Performance (SVSP) in Indianapolis. In this new position, the Carmel native will oversee all football partnerships and services, including SVSP's NFL Combine Training Program.

Responsible for recruiting draft prospects into the program and serving as a liaison for athletes and their agents, Herrmann's 12-year NFL career – which included time with the Denver Broncos, Baltimore and Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers and Los Angeles Rams – is an invaluable resource for both SVSP and program participants.

“Mark truly understands the intricacies of the draft process,” said Ralph Reiff, executive director of SVSP. “He knows firsthand what players need in a training program and what teams are looking for in an athlete. I'm confident he will serve as a great mentor for these young players and we’re honored to have him on board.”

SVSP's comprehensive NFL Combine Training Program, which will kick off again in January 2014, includes a combination of intensive performance training and treatment, nutritional education and planning, sports psychology insight and counseling, position-specific training with former NFL players and coaches, film analysis and more. Recent alumni of the program include Ronnie Hillman, Denver Broncos; Tracy Porter, Oakland Raiders; Jacoby Jones, Baltimore Ravens; Will Campbell, New York Jets; Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts and Kelvin Beachum, Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Beyond just speed and skill, teams are increasingly placing more importance on character and professionalism when evaluating players. They want someone who will make a positive impact in the locker room,” said Herrmann. “I'm excited to be a part of an organization that focuses on developing players both physically and mentally, and look forward to coaching these players through the longest, most in-depth interview of their careers.”

In addition to the NFL Combine Training Program, Herrmann will coordinate SVSP's football relationships with more than 30 local middle schools, high schools and universities. Herrmann most recently served as a community affairs consultant at St.Vincent Health in Indianapolis and, prior, as associate director of educational programs at the NCAA.
