Illiana Expressway to Go Before Commission
A key meeting that could affect the future of the proposed Illiana Expressway is set for next month in Portage. The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission could vote on adding the project to its long-range comprehensive regional plan. If it's not included, the proposed route could be in jeopardy of losing federal funding. November 20, 2013

PORTAGE, Ind. – The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission has announced the time and new venue for the next Transportation Policy Committee Meeting.
Tuesday, December 3, 2013, 9:00 a.m. at
Sycamore Room, Woodland Park, 2100 Willowcreek Rd, Portage
The next meeting will take place at Woodland Park's Sycamore Room, 2100 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN. Visit www.nirpc.org Events Page for links to directions and a map of the area.
There will be two items on the agenda as follows:
1. Discussion and possible Action on a recommendation to the NIRPC Board on the Public Participation Plan.
2. Discussion and possible Action on a proposal to include the Illiana and the I-65 expansion projects in the Long Range Transportation Plan and the Transportation Improvement Program.
