INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Glick Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF), has announced grants to 50 local not-for-profit organizations totaling more than $4 million. Grants focus on four areas: arts; education; human needs and the alleviation of suffering; and self-sufficiency and job skills.
The Glick Fund is a fund of the Central Indiana Community Foundation established by Eugene and Marilyn Glick in 1998 to support a variety of causes. It has awarded over $50 million in grants to not-for-profit organizations since its inception.
“These grants support organizations that seek to enrich lives and to empower people with knowledge,” said Marianne Glick, chairwoman of the Eugene & Marilyn Glick Family Foundation and The Glick Fund. “We believe that these efforts will improve the quality of life for individuals across the state and in Indianapolis.”
Deepening Support of Community Change Initiatives
The Glick Fund believes that lives are enhanced by a variety of programs, from those that help families facing difficult economic circumstances to those that provide access to art and literature. The newest grants include several projects that deepen the Fund's commitment to initiatives that have demonstrated success, including:
-Five-year funding commitment to the Indiana Author’s Award, which recognizes the contribution of Indiana authors to the literary landscape in Indiana and beyond;
-Support for a project that seeks to increase the sustainability of Connect2Help 2-1-1, a program that provides social service referrals to Hoosiers; and
-Targeted early childhood and elementary school educational strategies for the 46235 ZIP code area in Indianapolis, in partnership with the United Way of Central Indiana.
“The Glick family and The Glick Fund are powerful examples of the impact of passionate philanthropy. The Glicks continue to forge a legacy that enhances our community. We at the Central Indiana Community Foundation are privileged to partner with such an engaged and generous family,” said Brian Payne, President and CEO, CICF.
