Agency Assessing Solar ViabilityPosted: Updated:
A proposed solar farm is up for zoning approval tonight in the Madison County town of Frankton. The project is designed to help developers assess the viability of solar energy. Members of the Frankton Town Council are set to vote on the plan to build the 4,000 solar panel project on eight acres. It will be the first of three demonstration projects in the state by Carmel-based Indiana Municipal Power Agency. He says the aim is to determine how solar power will fit into the Agency's supply portfolio.
Our partners at The Herald Bulletin say construction could start next month in Frankton.
As part of the arrangement, the town would still own the property. IMPA would pay to use it.
