Bloomington-based CarDon & Associates Inc. has announced plans for a $17 million senior living community in Plainfield. The company says the project is expected to create approximately 125 jobs.

Plainfield, Ind. — CarDon & Associates, Inc., a Bloomington, IN-based provider of senior housing, rehabilitation and long term care services, is pleased to announce it will partner with WS Property Group, Inc., a Bloomington based real estate development company, to build a senior living community in Plainfield, Indiana. “We are pleased to be the development partner for this quality senior housing operator and look forward to working with the CarDon team to bring a state-of-the-art community to Plainfield,” said Eric C. Stolberg, President of WS Property Group, Inc.

CarDon's newest development project will be located on a 38 acre parcel at the intersection of Reeves Road and State Road 267. The project will offer a unique design planned to meet the changing lifestyle demands and trends in senior living, including assisted living, rehabilitation, long term care and dementia care.

The company has closed on the property and will build the campus in several phases. The community is expected to be open in the summer of 2015. The first phase of construction will consist of 104 skilled nursing beds and 36 assisted living apartments, with future phases including independent living apartments and garden homes.

“Our company has a long-standing tradition of providing Indiana seniors with quality care and services,” said Stephen Moore, M.D., CEO of CarDon & Associates, Inc. “This development represents our company’s commitment not only to Indiana's seniors, but specifically to the Plainfield community and surrounding areas. It will give seniors and their families access to a high quality senior living community that does not exist today in this area. In addition Phase 1 of the development will provide for the addition of 124 new jobs to the area.”

“Construction will take approximately 12 months to complete and will feature private suites along with state-of-the-art physical, speech, and occupational therapy facilities,” according to Scott Rigney, Chief Development Officer for CarDon & Associates. “The new design will provide a home-like atmosphere, and will showcase outstanding amenities including dining venues, theatre and activities spaces, a beauty/barber shop and a library.”

CarDon & Associates, Inc. has a 37-year history of developing and managing senior living communities throughout Indiana. The company currently operates and manages seventeen communities on fourteen campuses that offer skilled nursing and rehabilitation services, long term care, memory care, assisted living, senior housing apartments and garden homes.
