Proposed Solar Farm Facing Key VotePosted: Updated:
A plan to build an eight-acre solar farm in the Madison County community of Frankton is set to go before the town council next week for zoning approval. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin in Anderson report Carmel-based Indiana Municipal Power Agency believes, if approvals are met, the project could be operational by the end of January. Construction could start next month.
The company took the plan to the town earlier this year and The Herald Bulletin says it has received few objections.
As part of the arrangement, the town would still own the property, IMPA would pay for use of it.
The company is planning two other solar projects in the state.
