(NYSE: BTU) is reaching out to employees ahead of the planned closing of a Daviess County coal mine. The company says it is offering priority placement opportunities at other operations in the Midwest. In notices to the state, the company said the closure of the Viking Mine in Cannelburg could result in nearly 90 workers losing their jobs. The move is expected to take place later this year.
