The employee health care clinic trend continues to gain momentum with organizations throughout the state. Comlux USA is planning a ribbon cutting Wednesday at its new medical facility for employees and their families. The center, which could serve other employers around Indianapolis International Airport, is initially expected to handle about 500 patients. The opening follows a decision this week from the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp. to establish two new clinics in the city. Our partners at Eyewitness News in Evansville report the corporation hopes to save money after spending nearly $27 million on health care insurance in 2012. Many employers have been making similar moves in the past few months. to help improve worker health and lower costs.

That includes Bruan Corp. in Winamac, which opened a health and wellness clinic for more than 800 full-time employees in August.

In May, three Indiana companies announced there were sharing a couple of employee health clinics. Workers at Urschel Laboratories, Task Force tips and Centier Bank all have access to clinics at Urschel facilities in Valparaios and Centier's corporate headquarters in Merrillville.

In March, Indianapolis-based hhgregg Inc. (NYSE: HGG) opened a clinic at its headquarters.Source: Inside INdiana Business
