Arizona-based Inventure Foods Inc. (Nasdaq: SNAK) is planning to upgrade a northeast Indiana facility. The $3 million investment will help expand a product line and maintain 120 jobs. October 30, 2013

News Release

BLUFFTON, Ind. – Inventure Foods (Nasdaq: SNAK) has announced they will invest $3 million into their Bluffton, IN manufacturing facility in the form of an additional snack food extruder and the equipment to support this growth. This expansion of the plant's product line is expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2014. This new addition supports the long-term expansion plans for the facility and the current employment of 120.

“To have this type of investment in this plant bodes well for us,” said Ron Lee, Bluffton Facility Manager, “this supports our current customer base and allows us to enhance our ability to serve new customers.”

“Inventure Foods is a great part of the Wells County community,” stated Tim Ehlerding, Executive Director of Wells Economic Development, “and we look forward to their future success and growth. Seventy percent or more of our new industrial expansion in Wells County will come from those businesses already calling Wells County their home. Helping these community members in ways including tax abatements, workforce development programs, and logistical support is our contribution to the great work these people do.”

Extrusion is a process by which a set of mixed ingredients are forced through an opening in a perforated plate or die with a design specific to the food, and is then cut to a specified size. In the case of Inventure Foods, this process will create a series of snack products currently manufactured in Bluffton, or planned for the Indiana facility.

Inventure Foods (Nasdaq: SNAK) is a marketer and manufacturer of specialty brands in better-for-you and indulgent categories under a variety of Company owned and licensed brand names, including Boulder Canyon Natural Foods, Jamba, Rader Farms, T.G.I. Friday's, Nathan's Famous, BURGER KING, Poore Brothers, Tato Skins and Bob's Texas Style.
