The Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction says she plans to continue pursuing a lawsuit against the state Board of Education. Glenda Ritz tells the Tribune-Star in Terre Haute the legal action, centering on alleged violations of the state's open door law, will go on. The comments follow a letter from board members asking her to drop the lawsuit. You can view the full text of that letter by clicking here.

The newspaper reports Ritz outlined her decision during a phone interview, a few hours after a visit to Terre Haute to speak to a Rotary Club.

She is continuing to prepare for a board meeting in early November.

The lawsuit accuses members of deciding to shift the responsibility of A-F school grades to the Legislative Services Agency without Ritz's knowledge.
