Organizers expect 5,000 students and professionals to attend a career expo Friday and Saturday in Indianapolis. The event, part of this weekend's Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers national conference, will feature more than 200 employers, including Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) and Exxon Mobil Corp. (NYSE: XOM). October 29, 2013

INDUSTRY, Cal. – The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) will bring together more than 5,000 Hispanic students and professionals to its Career Fair Expo this week at the Indianapolis Convention Center, connecting them to more than 200 leading companies. The Career Fair Expo takes place Friday, November 1 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday, November 2 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.

SHPE's Career Fair Expo offers a unique opportunity for students and professionals to meet representatives from sponsoring corporations, non-profit organizations, government agencies and graduate schools to learn about the latest technologies and career options in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.

The career fair will include scheduled interviews for attendees. Attendees will interact with employers from various industries including Fortune 500 companies like ExxonMobil, Chevron, General Motors, General Electric, Google, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard.

“This truly is a must attend event for all students and professionals interested in a STEM career,” said Pilar Montoya, SHPE CEO. “STEM careers are growing rapidly and this is the perfect opportunity to network with leading employers at the largest Hispanic technical conference in the nation, where tier one companies are seeking top notch talent.”
