MISHAWAK, Ind. – Bethel College will inaugurate Gregg A. Chenoweth, Ph.D., as its seventh president on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Everest-Rohrer Chapel/Fine Arts Center – Auditorium. John Fuller, vice president of Focus on the Family’s audio and new media division, will speak at a pre-inauguration worship service as well as during the inauguration ceremony. Both events are free and open to the public.
On April 9, 2013, the Bethel College board of trustees unanimously voted to appoint Chenoweth and he began his tenure as president on July 8, 2013. In his inauguration address Chenoweth will speak about his short- and long-term goals for the college and invite students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the college to participate in his grand aspirations for Bethel's future.
Chenoweth most recently served as vice president for academic affairs at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill., where he also held positions as professor of journalism and public relations, journalism program director, honors program director and dean of the college of arts and sciences.
Chenoweth received his B.A. in Communication/Journalism from Olivet Nazarene University in 1990, his M.A. in Organizational Communication from Northern Illinois University in 1993 and his Ph.D. in Organizational Communication from Wayne State University in 2003.
