Cities to Mark Opening of New CNG Stations

FRANKFORT, Ind. – On Wednesday, October 30th, 2013, The Greater Indiana Clean Cities Coalition in partnership with Northville Natural Gas Fuels will conduct a press event and Grand Opening of Frankfort, Indiana's first public fast-fill CNG station.
Frankfort Mayor, Chris L. McBarnes, Representatives of Northville Natural Gas Fuels, Greater Indiana Clean Cities Executive Director, Kellie Walsh and other local dignitaries are scheduled to offer comments and take questions on the cost-saving and environmental benefits this new facility offers to Frankfort residents, in particular, as well as the benefits clean burning CNG offers to to all Americans and the U.S. economy.
“The state of Indiana has long been and continues to be a national leader in alternative fuels deployment, ” said Kellie Walsh, Greater Indiana's Executive Director. “By creating state legislation that encourages the establishment of CNG fueling station infrastructure like this new facility in Frankfort, Indiana policies are creating jobs, a cleaner environment and reducing our dependence on foreign oil.”
Northville Natural Gas Fuels President Jeff Woods said “Northville is proud to be contributing to the growth in availability of CNG fueling infrastructure in Indiana. Offering high performance fueling at a competitive price, our new public access CNG stations in Frankfort and Vincennes demonstrate Northville's commitment to partnering with leading fleets to build and operate natural gas fueling infrastructure that supports their operating requirements and also serves the public.”
The Frankfort station is located at 1490 S County Road 700 West, just east of the I-65 & SR28, interchange. This site boasts easy-off, easy-on access to I-65 and was specifically chosen to maximize convenience for CNG fueled vehicle operators.
“Frito-Lay is pleased to support Frankfort's first public, fast-fill CNG station,” said Mike O'Connell, senior director of fleet operations for Frito-Lay North America. “With our volume of trucks fueled by CNG and traffic patterns, we will be a frequent and loyal customer at the new station. We hope that our continued support further solidifies the need for more CNG stations and overall infrastructure for alternative fuels.”
The station's canopied, multi-pump station is the first of several public-access CNG stations Northville Natural Gas Fuels is opening to the public this year, including a new Northville NG Fuels-branded CNG station in Vincennes, IN.

The Vincennes station is located at 1767 S Old US 41, less than a quarter mile north of the I-41 & S Decker Road interchange. This site boasts easy-off, easy-on access to I-41 and was specifically chosen to maximize convenience for CNG fueled vehicle operators.

“By converting our fleet of trucks to dual-fuel compressed natural gas, Bestway is helping lower emissions and use a lower priced alternative fuel,” states Will McCormick, Bestway Express' Maintenance Director. “The savings have allowed us to redirect capital to other truck conversions while keeping Bestway Express competitive in the industry.”
Greater Indiana's Kellie Walsh also commented on the technology of CNG, “There is a direct connection between the efficiencies offered by CNG and the technologies required to achieve them. It goes without saying that this project would not be possible without the technologies offered by D2G, Inc.”

CNG FAST FACTS – There are currently more than 115,000 to 120,000 natural gas vehicles on America's roads today; more than 13 million worldwide, according to Natural Gas Vehicles for America. Industry data shows that vehicular natural gas nearly doubled between 2003 and 2009. In 2010, natural gas displaced more than 350 million gasoline gallon equivalents (GGE's) each year. The International Association for Natural Gas Vehicles estimates that there will be more than 50 million natural gas vehicles worldwide within the next 10 years, or about 9 percent of the world transportation fleets.
