Easter Seals Crossroads in Indianapolis has acquired a document scanning company. Chief Executive Officer Patrick Sandy says eLudica Imaging is now known as Crossroads Document Services. It is operating out of the Crossroads Industrial Services' facility. October 23, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Patrick Sandy, President and CEO of Easter Seals Crossroads, has announced the acquisition of document scanning company eLucida Imaging, which has been relocated into Crossroads Industrial Services’ facility and is now operating as Crossroads Document Services.

eLucida Imaging brings Crossroads the opportunity to enter a growing market for document scanning services with the ability to convert all kinds of paper records to electronic images for storage on a variety of media. Offering modern equipment, processes, security and a very experienced team to complete most scanning projects, eLucida Imaging specializes in healthcare, real estate, title and legal documents, as well as projects for local governments, manufacturing companies and recently the Indianapolis Airport Authority. Mary Jo Gremling, eLucida Imaging CEO, has been hired as the manager of Crossroads Document Services.

This acquisition comes at a time when most nonprofits are struggling to fulfill their missions that traditionally rely on community support. “It represents an innovative approach for a nonprofit to survive in our current economic climate and it allows Crossroads to create employment opportunities and generate a revenue stream that can be used to support vital programs and services for children and adults with disabilities,” stated Sandy.

Emphasizing the “Good for Business, Good for People” philosophy that Crossroads Industrial Services upholds, the scanning operation is expected to employ over 20 people with disabilities, special needs or challenges. Customers can expect their work to be completed in a secure, quality environment, along with the added benefit of knowing that they will be creating opportunities for people with significant disabilities to be paid competitive wages. Besides providing a great employment opportunity, it also includes the ability to provide training in a growing field.

Press and interested parties are invited to an Open House on Tuesday, November 5, from 9 – 12 p.m. at Crossroads Industrial Services to view the Crossroads Document Scanning operation and learn more about this acquisition.
