A global information technology company has relocated its Indianapolis office to a larger space in the city. Massachusetts-based EMC Corp. (NYSE: EMC) employs more than 100 Marion County workers. October 22, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indianapolis office of high-technology giant EMC (NYSE:EMC) has moved to larger offices at Keystone at the Crossing to accommodate the company's explosive growth.

EMC is a global leader in cloud computing, document management and storage.

The Indianapolis office opened about 15 years ago with fewer than 10 employees; today it has 100 employees, with growth projected to continue.

“With more people, sales revenue growth and the continued acquisition and direction of the company, we outgrew our previous offices,” said Mike Pratt, EMC Area Manager.

EMC was formerly in an 8,000-square-foot space at the Precedent Office Park and moved earlier this month to over 12,000 square feet on the seventh floor at 8888 Keystone Crossing.

EMC is hosting an open house Tuesday, October 29 from 3 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the new location and offer demonstrations by various strategic business partners. With a “Speed to Lead” theme and the Indianapolis location, the open house will also include pit crew competitions.

“EMC has had a low profile in Indianapolis,” said Pratt. “Our customers knew us, but few others realized EMC had a presence here. Over the past 15 years we have quietly become a leading cloud provider in this area and a leader in information technology as a service. The new offices and the open house demonstrate EMC's commitment and investment in central Indiana.”

The EMC Indianapolis office customers include Eli Lilly and Company, Cummins Inc., Sallie Mae, the State of Indiana, the City of Indianapolis, Purdue University and others.

“The demand in the world of 'big data' customers has grown dramatically and there is no end in sight,” said Steve Carr, EMC District Manager. “Organizations have large amounts of electronic data to manage and store, usually from multiple locations – whether that's around the state or around the globe. At the same time, they are investing to ensure their data is secure. The proliferation of mobile devices and a workforce that expects transparent and constant access to programs and data have put new demands on IT departments and personnel. We help them transform their IT systems and services.

“We strategically partner with our customers to support their infrastructure by handling the whole information stack, whether it's customer owned and maintained or in the cloud.”

Headquartered in Hopkinton, Mass., EMC's corporate growth has included acquiring and partnering with other companies. Partners include CISCO, VMware, Network Storage Inc, CDW, RoundTower, SIS, Logicalis, Presedio, Data Strategy and CBTS. Partnering with these organizations allows EMC the opportunity to collaborate and provide best-of-breed technologies and services to customers.

“One of our corporate themes is 'the speed to lead,'” said Carr. “The modern workforce expects constant and secure access to data, and they want it now. Organizations depend on IT partners that apply the same speed as they adapt their IT systems to deliver what their employees and customers expect.”

EMC has the world's largest sales and service force focused on information infrastructure, employing approximately 60,000 people worldwide and represented by approximately 400 sales offices and scores of partners in 86 countries around the world.
