The Chicago Metropolitan Planning Organization's policy committee voted yesterday to include the Illiana Expressway project in its comprehensive regional plan. Earlier this month, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning board advised against the move, saying it would cost taxpayers more than $1 billion.
