News Release

Mishawaka, Ind. — Bethel College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new student media center on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m., followed by an open house of the facility.

The center houses all student media groups including The Bethel Beacon student newspaper, the Helm yearbook, BethelPilotRadio.com, and Bethel Prime Time television news. This is the first time that all student media will be in one facility, giving students easier access to tools and opportunities to apply what they are learning in the classroom.

President Gregg Chenoweth, Ph.D., who has a background in public relations and journalism, will lead the ribbon cutting and dedication. The space, which is located directly behind Bethel’s Sufficient Grounds Caf? and Campus Store, previously served as campus housing and was fully renovated during the summer.

Bethel College is an accredited Christian college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees in more than 70 areas of study. The current enrollment of more than 2,000 includes students from 34 states and Puerto Rico, 10 countries and 16 percent from culturally diverse backgrounds. In addition to its beautifully wooded 75-acre main campus in Mishawaka, Ind., Bethel also offers specific academic programs at sites in Elkhart, Ind., Fort Wayne, Ind., Dowagiac, Mich., and St. Joseph, Mich.
