An Indianapolis electronic hardware manufacturer is celebrating 60 years in business. General Devices began in 1953 making 3D movie reels. The company now employs approximately 150 in central Indiana.

Indianapolis ,Ind. — General Devices celebrates its 60th anniversary this year marking a presence in Indianapolis that dates back to its founding in 1953 by the Fall family. The company has advanced from originally making 3D movie reels into a global industry leader in the electronics hardware industry and currently employs approximately 150 people in the Indianapolis, IN area.

General Devices offers a full selection of electronic packaging hardware as single components or as complete packaging solutions. Products manufactured are telescoping drawer slides, electronic cabinets, racks, enclosures, cabinet rack accessories, multipurpose communications shelters, and fabricated custom metal products.

Customers served are leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) whose products are designed for use in many diverse markets including electronics/computer, telecom/datacom, broadcast, audio/visual, medical, aerospace, military, security, transportation, fire and emergency vehicles, recreational vehicles, service work truck and equipment vehicles, bus transport vehicles, and other major industries and markets.
