Indiana University Health Arnett in Lafayette is planning to consolidate urgent care operations. The move will result in the closing of one facility, which the health care organization says could make way for potential expansion of primary care services. October 2, 2013

News Release

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Indiana University Health Arnett will consolidate its three Urgent Care Centers into two locations to improve operational efficiencies in meeting the needs of patients seeking care for sudden illnesses and injuries. The IU Health Arnett Urgent Care at 2600 Greenbush Street, Lafayette will close November 1, 2013.

The move will allow for the potential expansion of primary care services at the Greenbush location. November 1 will be the last day for patients to receive treatment at that location.

These changes will enable IU Health Arnett to adjust staff at the two remaining Urgent Care Centers, with the intent to improve operational efficiencies and reduce patient wait times.

“We are continually evaluating our services and reallocating resources to best serve the community while being responsive to the changing healthcare climate,” said IU Health Arnett Urgent Care Department Chair, Dr. Kishan Patel. “Additionally, call-ahead appointment hours will be extended beginning November 1. Established IU Health Arnett patients can call ahead for appointments 7 am – 5 pm, every day by calling 765.448.8100.”

The recent opening of the IU Health Arnett Urgent Care located in West Lafayette created the capacity needed for this consolidation. The Urgent Care Center located in West Lafayette offers extended hours from 7 am – 9 pm every day and 8 am – 8 pm on holidays. The Urgent Care Center located on the south side of Lafayette at 1 Walter Scholer Drive, is open 8 am – 8 pm daily.

Indiana University Health Arnett Urgent Care centers provide convenient medical care with no appointment required. Visit an Urgent Care center when you need immediate attention and cannot get an appointment with your primary care physician or for any emergency that is not life threatening. If your medical condition is life threatening, go to a nearby emergency room or call 911.
