Governor Mike Pence is slated to take part in two economic development events today. The first is a ribbon cutting at Elkhart-based Drew Industries Inc. (NYSE: DW). In April, the company announced it would relocate from New York and add 800 jobs by 2017. The second is an event to mark the start of Land O'Frost Inc.'s $6.4 million relocation project, which could create 50 jobs by next year. October 1, 2013

ELKHART, Ind. – Governor Mike Pence will join executives from Drew Industries Incorporated (NYSE: DW) at 11 a.m. on Wednesday for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the company's new headquarters in Elkhart.

Drew Industries, a manufacturer of a broad array of components for recreational vehicles, manufactured homes and other industries, announced plans in April to invest $12.75 million to relocate its headquarters from White Plains, N.Y. to Elkhart and expand its manufacturing operations in Goshen and Elkhart, creating up to 800 new jobs by 2017. As part of the project, the company installed new manufacturing and production lines. Drew Industries and its affiliates, Lippert Components and Kinro, have approximately 4,425 employees in Indiana with 4,200 employees in Elkhart County.

MUNSTER, Ind. – Governor Mike Pence will join executives from Land O'Frost, Inc. at 2:15 p.m. CDT on Wednesday for a groundbreaking ceremony of the company's new headquarters in Munster.

Land O'Frost, the nation's second-largest seller of pre-sliced, pre-packaged lunchmeats and a producer of specialty sausage products, announced plans in December to invest $6.4 million to relocate its corporate headquarters from Lansing, Ill. to a three-acre campus in Munster, creating up to 50 new jobs by 2014. Construction on a 27,000 square-foot facility is scheduled to begin this month and is expected to be operational in 2014. Land O'Frost is a third generation family-owned business and one of the fastest growing meat companies in the country. Today, the company employs approximately 50 professionals at its headquarters and more than 1,100 manufacturing associates at its four production plants.
