The Muncie-based Alliance for Strategic Growth Inc. has named Mike Row its next president and chief executive officer. He most recently served as CEO of EDGE Manufacturing Inc. in Bluffton and will succeed Barbara Street, who is retiring early next year. September 25, 2013

MUNCIE, Ind. – Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc. (ASG) announced the selection of Mike Row as the new President & CEO at their meeting held today in New Castle, IN.

Row has most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of EDGE Manufacturing, Inc. in Bluffton, Indiana. Previously, Mike served five years as the Executive Director of Economic Development for the Wells County. His background also includes administrator and assistant professor positions at Taylor University and as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University. Row has served as a two-term member of the Grant County Council and on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Mike holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ball State University, and is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma's Economic Development Institute. Mike and his wife, Shelly, have two adult sons and two grandchildren.

ASG has been in the process of conducting an extensive Executive Search since April 2013 when current CEO, Barbara Street, provided official notice to the Board of her intent to retire in early 2014.

Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc., an Indiana 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation, is recognized in the state for its leadership and expertise in workforce development with focus on growing the economy and workforce of the region. The corporation is responsible to provide strategic leadership and oversee workforce services in Eastern Indiana Economic Growth Region 6. Customer services are provided through eight WorkOne locations throughout the region which consists of Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Rush, Union, and Wayne counties. These customer services are provided by various partnership agencies which make up the WorkOne system.

This Economic Growth Region has been formed by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development who is the cognizant state agency for the WorkOne system in the State of Indiana and has provided the funding for these initiatives. Alliance for Strategic Growth, Inc. is one of 11 Workforce Investment Boards in Indiana. Appointments to the Board are made by Mayors, County Commissioners and Town Board Presidents in Eastern Indiana.
