Governor Mike Pence has selected Gordon Hendry to serve on the State Board of Education. He is first vice president of CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. (NYSE:CBG) in Indianapolis. September 25, 2013

News Release

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Governor Mike Pence today named Gordon Hendry to the State Board of Education (SBOE).

“I am pleased Gordon Hendry has agreed to serve on the State Board of Education,” said Governor Pence. “His leadership experience, commitment to public service, and work with both education and economic groups will be a critical asset to the State Board of Education in the years ahead.”

Gordon Hendry is First Vice President of CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc. (CBRE), where he serves as the Midwest regional leader of the company's Public Institutions and Education Solutions Group. Prior to joining CBRE, Hendry led Indy Partnership, an organization focused on economic development in 10 regional counties in central Indiana. During his time there, Indy Partnership was named one of the top 10 economic development groups in the country by Site Selection magazine.

Hendry also served as the Director of Economic Development under Mayor Bart Peterson, focusing on workforce and business development in Indianapolis, and, earlier, as an attorney at Ice Miller. In 2007, he was named to Indianapolis Business Journal's annual “Forty under 40” list. Hendry, of Indianapolis, earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his law degree from George Washington University Law School.

Hendry fills the seat vacated by David Shane, who resigned from the SBOE to serve as Chair of the Indiana Region 5 Works Council.
