Purdue University and Purdue Research Park-based Indiana Microelectronics LLC will share a $500,000 U.S. Navy contract. The deal involves radio communications technology that was developed by the college of engineering and commercialized by the company. September 25, 2013

News Release

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The U.S. Navy has awarded an 18-month Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase II contract worth $500,000 to develop the Reconfigurable Microwave Filter, an innovation developed in Purdue University's College of Engineering and commercialized by Indiana Microelectronics LLC, a Purdue Research Park-based firm.

The Tunable Bandstop Filters for the Mitigation of Co-site Interference and Jamming Sources contract was awarded June 26.

The contract funds a joint partnership between Indiana Microelectronics and Purdue's Adaptive Radio Electronic and Sensors Team, led by Dimitrios Peroulis, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering.

Mike McPheters, director of business development at Indiana Microelectronics, said the technology will strengthen the Navy's ability to adapt dynamically to constantly changing radio frequency environments such as electronic warfare.

“The Reconfigurable Microwave Filter technology will provide the Navy with the ability to mitigate in near real time both unintentional interference from friendly sources and intentional jamming signals from unfriendly sources,” he said.
