A new service plaza at Indianapolis International Airport is open. The airport authority says operations started over the weekend at a gas station and convenience store. Two restaurants at the location are expected to open later this year. September 23, 2013

The long-awaited IND Service Plaza has opened at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND). Operations began today at the Circle K convenience store and 24-hour Shell fueling services that are on site.

Fueling options include all levels of unleaded gasoline as well as diesel and compressed natural gas. A total of 24 fueling positions are available, and carwash, automobile detailing, and quick lube services will be added beginning early next month.

Opening by the end of October will be a Subway restaurant, followed by a Petro’s Chili and Chips, which will open by year’s end.

The Service Plaza is located on the south side of Col. H. Weir Cook Memorial Drive and is easily accessible to all vehicles arriving and departing the passenger terminal at IND, as well as to employees working at the IND campus.

A flight-information display monitor, located inside the Circle K, provides up-to-date information on flights arriving and departing IND, and the Service Plaza also offers a public men’s and women’s restrooms.
