An Indiana government relations veteran has formed her own company. Pat McGuffey says McGuffey and Associates LLC in Indianapolis will provide services including advocacy and public affairs.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Indiana government-relations veteran Pat McGuffey, ESQ. said today that she has formed McGuffey and Associates, LLC, a new full-service governmental affairs and association management company. The firm will provide legislative and regulatory advocacy, grassroots development, association management, procurement and public affairs services, PAC management, and political strategy. The new location is at 200 S. Meridian St., Suite 410, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

“I am excited to make this move. I have a strong desire to serve the needs of my clients – both old and new, and I am pleased to continue advocating for the interests of the organizations that we represent,” said McGuffey. “We will continue to provide a collaborative approach for clients that builds on our uniquely tailored governmental affairs and association management services.”

With over 30 years in governmental affairs, McGuffey has a track record of success. She has cooperated with numerous administrations and was awarded the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash by Governor Frank O’Bannon in 2002. Throughout her career, McGuffey has effectively advocated for numerous mental health, health, and budgetary issues. In addition, she has assisted many agricultural and business organizations in implementing well-balanced policy for the interests of the client and the public at large.

She has also served on the Governor's Juvenile Justice Advisory Board; is a past president of the Indianapolis Press Club; a former Commissioner of the Indiana Protection and Advocacy Commission; is Past President of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana and the Indianapolis Bar Association (Government, Health Care, Agriculture and Environmental Law Practice Section) and Chairman of Public Relations Committee of the Indiana State Bar Association.

In making the announcement, McGuffey confirmed that Cathy Orosz has joined her team as the Director of Client Services and Association Management. Orosz brings over 20 years of experience to McGuffey and Associates with career highlights that include her work as Association Manager for the Indiana State Chiropractic Association (ISCA) and Executive Director for the Printing Industries of Indiana. Additionally, Orosz provided communications support for the Governor’s Council on Dangerous and Impaired Driving and the Governor’s Commission for a Drug Free Indiana.

McGuffey also verified her strategic partnerships with Jessaca Turner Stults, who founded TSS Capitol Group, LLC, and The Mattison Corporation, which specializes in managing non-profit associations as well as providing clerical, bookkeeping, payroll, public relations, strategic planning and video production services to for profit and non-profit businesses.

Before Turner Stults began managing TSS Capitol Group, she acted as the Legislative Director for the Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA). In 2007, she became General Counsel of FSSA while maintaining her role as Legislative Director for the agency. In this role, she advocated before the Indiana General Assembly to protect and monitor FSSA’s interests.

Scott Grimes, Chris Price, Amy Herbetz and Alex ElNaggar will represent The Mattison Corporation in doing business with McGuffey. Grimes and Price, co-owners of The Mattison Corporation, serve as Executive Directors of several professional associations related to the construction industry. Herbertz will assist Orosz with the day-to-day responsibilities of the ISCA. Her prior experience was in the non-profit sector working as a program coordinator for various organizations. ElNaggar brings more than eight years of financial management to the team. In this role, Alex directs all financial aspects of the ISCA, including accounting practices, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, and monitoring of financial performance.
