Indianapolis will host two junior hockey tournaments this weekend. Organizers expect both the USHL Eastern Fall Classic and the BigFoot Hockey Showcase to draw more than 200 collegiate and professional scouts.

Indianapolis, Ind. — The Indiana Ice will put Indianapolis on the center stage of the junior hockey world this weekend (9/13-9/15) as they host the USHL Eastern Fall Classic at Pan Am Pavilion and Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The USHL Fall Classic East and USHL Fall Classic West in Sioux City, IA will take the place of the annual USHL Fall Classic which has been held the last few seasons in Sioux City, IA and consisted of all 16 USHL member teams. Both events are expected to draw over 200 collegiate and professional scouts.

The Eastern group consisting of Indiana, Dubuque, Green Bay, Muskegon, Youngstown, Cedar Rapids, Chicago and Team USA will play two games apiece this weekend with all games being played at Pan Am Pavilion and Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The Ice will be facing off against the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday, September 14 at 8:00 pm from Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the Muskegon Lumberjacks from Pan Am Pavilion on Sunday at 5:45 pm. All USHL contests on Friday and Sunday will be played at Pan Am Pavilion while Bankers Life Fieldhouse will host four games on Saturday. The event is open to the public and three-day passes are available for $20 per person. Single-day passes can be purchased for $10.

In addition to USHL action, Indiana will be home to the “Bigfoot Hockey Showcase” this weekend featuring 30 of the nation’s top youth hockey teams at the U14, U16 and U18 levels. The showcase will also feature several of the Indiana Jr. Ice programs and the youth hockey contests will be split between the Carmel Ice Skadium, The Forum at Fishers and Pan Am Pavilion.

Elite youth hockey organizations committed for the event include Belle Tire, Chicago Mission, Cleveland Barons, Colorado Thunderbirds, Compuware, Chicago Young Americans, Grand Rapids Griffins, Honeybaked, Indiana Junior Ice, Little Caesars, Michigan Nationals, North Jersey Avalanche, Rocky Mountain RoughRiders, San Diego Gulls, Team Illinois and TPH Thunder AAA.

The regular season home opener for the Indiana Ice is Friday, September 27th when the Ice host the Sioux Falls Stampede from Pan Am Pavilion. Individual game tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster and the Bankers Life Fieldhouse box office on Monday, September 16 at 10 am.
