He is actively involved at the IU School of Medicine in resident teaching and is a Clinical Assistant Professor there. He has appointments with Indianapolis hospitals: Franciscan St. Francis Hospitals, Community Hospital South and IU North Hospital.

Dr. Hamilton has served in a variety of leadership positions in the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery, including Chairman of the Emerging Technologies committee and the Young Physicians Committee. In 2009 he was awarded the 1887 Award, nationally recognizing his commitment to the AAFPRS Foundation. He is also active in the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has been selected to author questions for the board exams.

He is a fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and American College of Surgeons and is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons.

Dr. Hamilton has served on numerous committees and in leadership positions for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, as well as, the Indianapolis Medical Society and the Indianapolis Medical Society Foundation. Dr. Hamilton has donated his time and support to many charitable organizations including the Julian Center, Nathan's Battle, and Project Health. He also continues to provide surgery for victims of domestic violence through the Face To Face program of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
