A Texas company says it intends to employ more than 200 for a new movie theater in Indianapolis. Studio Movie Grill says the first Indiana location should be open in less than a month. The 13-screen complex will be in the city's College Park area. September 6, 2013

News Release

September 4, 2013 INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The opening of Studio Movie Grill (“SMG”) at College Park Plaza is less than a month away, and already this massive development has impacted the local economy.

Dallas-based Studio Movie Grill has been hard at work on construction to completely overhaul the existing theater space at College Park Plaza. Dozens of local construction workers have been working to complete this vibrant entertainment mecca, which will offer customers a new kind of movie going experience. SMG College Park will house a thirteen-screen upscale theater, complete with Texas Instruments DLP powered projectors by Christie and Dolby, MasterImage’s Clarity 3D systems and an expansive menu for in-theater dining

As SMG prepares for all the upcoming fall and holiday blockbusters, the company has already begun to hire staff members, many of whom live in Indianapolis and the northern suburbs. In addition, the company is still looking to hire employees to fill a number of hourly positions. Once hiring is completed the theatre will employ more than 200 people. Prospective employees should apply through the SMG website at www.studiomoviegrill.com

“We are looking forward to offering not only the best in in-theater dining for residents in the area, but also to becoming a true partner in the community and providing Indianapolis with numerous economic opportunities,” states Studio Movie Grill Founder/Owner/President, Brian Schultz.

In addition to hiring over two hundred local staff members, many of the management positions at Studio Movie Grill have been filled by local residents. “It’s great for our opening team to have a vast knowledge of the local community, and to know exactly what is important to each of our guests,” said Schultz.

SMG is sure to be a major attraction to the vibrant College Park area community. The concept has historically proven to be a boon to surrounding retailers through its ability to provide advertising 365 days a year as well as increasing the volume of customers to nearby establishments.
