As the Indianapolis Colts begin their 30th season in the city, Chief Operating Officer Pete Ward says the team is focusing on improving the fan experience at Lucas Oil Stadium. Ward, who has been with the Colts since the move from Baltimore, says the team has added a feature to its smartphone app allowing fans in attendance to watch replays from six different angles. During an interview to air this weekend on Inside INdiana Business Television, Ward previews the upcoming season and gives a peek into a rarely-seen team museum in the stadium. Despite improving television coverage of National Football League games, Ward says there is “no way to reproduce the experience of being at the game.” He says the Colts were ranked in the top five in many fan experience categories during a recent NFL audit.

In June, the Capital Improvement Board in Indianapolis approved $2 million in improvements to Lucas Oil Stadium, including a pair of digital ribbon boards and new suites. Earlier this year, the stadium topped Stadium Journey's annual “Top 101” list.

Ward says the team is standing behind Indianapolis' bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl. He says the city's performance during the 2012 game is “the best way to sell a second Super Bowl.”
