INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz announced appointments to the Accountability System Review panel. As co-chair of the panel, Superintendent Ritz will oversee the work of the panel as it makes recommendations on how to best design a fair and transparent accountability system for Indiana schools.
The panel was created through a memorandum of understanding between Superintendent Ritz, Governor Mike Pence, Senator David Long and Speaker Brian Bosma. The panel will consist of 16 members in addition to Superintendent Ritz. Superintendent Ritz, Governor Pence, Senator Long and Speaker Bosma have all made four appointments to the panel.
“I am a strong proponent of accountability for our schools,” said Superintendent Ritz. “Recent media reports have raised significant questions about how our schools have been graded in the past. I look forward to working with this panel to advocate for a strong accountability system that is fair and transparent.”
