Arts United of Greater Fort Wayne has launched a nationwide search for a new president. The cultural organization is looking to replace Jim Sparrow, who is leaving for a similar post in North Carolina. September 5, 2013

News Release

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Arts United Board of Directors has launched a search for President. The search will likely include candidates from the northeast Indiana and communities throughout the United States.

“Greater Fort Wayne has a strong and vibrant cultural core, and we're looking for a leader with the experience and vision to lead Arts United and our flourishing arts scene into the future. This is an exciting time to join Arts United and this community in a leadership capacity. We feel really good about the strength of our organization and its ability to help take this community and our partner organizations to the next level,” remarked Andrew Boxberger, Arts United Board Chair.

A search committee has been formed and includes representatives of the Arts United Board of Directors and partner organizations. Nancy Stewart and Leonard Helfrich, both long-time board members of various arts and cultural organizations in northeast Indiana, are co-chairing the search effort.

The search committee is accepting resumes by email to search@artsunited.org or by US Postal Service to 300 E Main Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46802 by Friday, September 27, 2013.

A position description and additional information about the search is posted atwww.artsunited.org/search. The review and evaluation process will begin in early October with the anticipation that a candidate will be selected by December 2013.

The search comes on the heels of the resignation of Jim Sparrow, who served as the organization's leader since 2006 and in other staff capacities since 1998. Mr. Sparrow will join the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County in North Carolina as President and CEO in September 2013.

Arts United's mission is to develop, coordinate and support arts and cultural efforts in northeast Indiana. To learn more about Arts United, visit WWW.ARTSUNITED.ORG.
