INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Mayor Greg Ballard and Mark Pratt, President and CEO of Denison Parking, Inc. today announced a unique Indy Parks partnership involving Presidential Place Park in the heart of Downtown Indianapolis.
Denison Parking will adopt Presidential Place Park's maintenance and capital improvements of the half-acre green space and plaza that centers around a Jefferson elm, which originated in Monticello. Today's announcement is the latest partnership of "My City, My Park" that presents opportunities for tailored projects and numerous levels of involvement in updating of park spaces.
"Even small spaces hold great stories and important meaning for our community, and we are grateful to our partners at Denison for their willingness to help us sustain this important Indy Parks space," said Mayor Greg Ballard.
The Denison Parking partnership is one that showcases a shared commitment from businesses, private citizens and city leaders.
"Presidential Place is still very much a public space, but when we drive past this gateway now, we have a real connection to our park space. This space is going to need upkeep as it progresses in years. We recognize that, and we look forward to making sure this space only gets better with age," said Mark Pratt, President and CEO of Denison, Inc.
"If there's one thing we've learned in just a few short months from My City My Park, it's that contributions of all types and sizes can add up quickly. Days of Service can take a park space from good to great in a matter of hours. But with Presidential Place Park, thanks to Denison's commitment, we have the privilege of seeing that transformation play out over and over again," said John Williams, Indy Parks Director.
