News Release

Plymouth, Ind. — The Plymouth City Council on Monday approved a transfer of $1.2 million of unused and unencumbered funds from the City’s General Fund to its Rainy Day Fund designating the money for future use in support of the city’s 2014 application for the Stellar Communities program.

Stellar Communities is an award-winning multi-agency partnership of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, the Indiana Department of Transportation, and the State Revolving Fund, which is designed to fund comprehensive community development projects in the state’s smaller communities. Since 2011, two communities per year have attained Stellar designation in a highly competitive process. Successful communities demonstrate innovative partnerships and the ability to complete impactful projects within a three year timeframe.

“We're doing some great things in Plymouth,” said Mayor Mark Senter. The Mayor also provided, “Allocation of these funds will help the city carry-out its plans and will position us to unlock even further possibilities for our region through the Stellar Communities program.”
