LOGANSPORT, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces portions of the new State Road 25 Hoosier Heartland between Logansport and Delphi will open in phases beginning the week of September 15 through late October. Details on the stretches of roadway opening first will be released in the coming weeks.
INDOT is working with the Hoosier Heartland Industrial Corridor, Inc. to organize a ribbon cutting for this $334 million Major Moves project when the last portions of pavement open to traffic in late October.
The new State Road 25 will be a 35-mile, four-lane, limited access divided highway. The Hoosier Heartland corridor will provide safer access from Lafayette to Fort Wayne, where it links to the U.S. 24 segment known as the Fort-to-Port corridor.
Ground was broken for the Major Moves project in October of 2008. Work was accelerated to be completed by the end of 2013. In October 2012, the new State Road 25 between U.S. 421 in Delphi and I-65 in Lafayette opened to traffic.
