August 16, 2013

News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — The Board of Trustees today regretfully accepted the resignation of Dr. George Miller. Dr. Miller and his wife have accepted another opportunity. During his tenure Dr. Miller successfully addressed a number of challenges to the University, including fiscal issues, while increasing its outreach into the business community and the community at large. The Board of Trustees commends and acknowledges the accomplishments of Dr. Miller during his tenure. We are confident the University will be able to build upon the foundation left by Dr. Miller.

Dr. Miller has agreed to serve as an advisor to the Board until a new president is selected. The Board will announce the selection of an interim president in the future as well as the process of selecting the new president. Dr. Miller's last day as President will be November 1, 2013.

In making his announcement, Dr. Miller said, “I wish to thank the Martin University family – the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and supporters, the Martin University community and all who supported Martin, my team and me as we worked for the good of the University. I am confident that this relationship will continue and get even stronger as Martin continues to move to even higher heights. Martin will forever be in our prayers and Mrs. Miller and I wish you the best.”

The Board of Trustees wishes Dr. Miller and his wife all the best.
