An event later this month in Jeffersonville will showcase pitches from several early-stage startups. Velocity Indiana's Demo Day will feature southern Indiana companies from its business accelerator program, including a crowd-funding platform for Greek organizations and a new photo sharing app. August 13, 2013

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – Velocity Indiana is hosting a free “Demo Day” event open to the public on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Guest speaker Bob Marino, CEO of Caf? Press, will give the opening remarks for the event, followed by pitches from the five companies that have gone through Velocity Indiana's Accelerator program. There will be a short reception following the pitch presentations.

Velocity Indiana's business accelerator program provides direct funding and mentoring for promising young companies through the critical early stages of development. The five teams that will be presenting pitches at the Demo Days event are:

Collabra: a place for musicians and fans to create and collaborate online in a fun and engaging way.

Greek Pull: crowd funding platform for fraternities and sororities.

Large: digital optimization specialists.

Pass It: photo sharing app that allows users to connect, compete, and send their photos around the world.

Steel Fashion: an online styling solution for men.

Demo Day will be held at Kyes 1(500 Missouri Avenue, Jeffersonville, IN 47130). Doors open at 2:30 pm and presentations begin at 3:00 pm. This event is open to the public.

About Velocity Indiana:

Velocity is an Entrepreneur Center in Southern Indiana focused on developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem through education and programming initiatives. The business accelerator is a premiere program of Velocity Indiana and will acceptfive early-stage companies into an intense 100 day program based on the principles of the Lean Startup movement and Customer Development process. The teams will be surrounded by 40-80 of the best mentors from a variety of backgrounds. The program will include office and meeting space and $20,000 in seed capital.
