Three Indiana cities are included on a national list of “Top Minor League Markets.” Sports Business Journal ranks Fort Wayne highest in the state, and seventh in the country. Visit Fort Wayne President Dan O'Connell says the city and its three primary minor league teams have experienced an economic boost by working together in marketing efforts. The publication considered factors including the number of years teams have existed, total attendance and personal income levels. South Bend, which is home of the Silver Hawks, placed 75th overall and scored extra points for recent renovations to Coveleski Regional Stadium.

Evansville was ranked 138th out of 229 communities and boasts the East Coast Hockey League's IceMen, Frontier League baseball's Otters and the Continental Indoor Football League's Rage.

The research examined baseball, basketball, indoor football, hockey and soccer franchises.
