Ivy Tech Community College has named Lori Handy dean of the school of business for the Central Indiana region. She had been serving as director of financial aid for the region.

Indianapolis, Ind. — Ivy Tech Community College announced it has selected Dr. Lori Handy for the position of dean of the School of Business for the Central Indiana region, which serves more than 30,000 students within Indianapolis and the greater Central Indiana community.

Prior to this appointment, Handy was serving as director of financial aid for the Central Indiana region. She replaces Dr. Frank Moman, who was appointed to the role of vice chancellor of academic affairs in April 2013.

“Lori's background in education and supervision has prepared her to be a dynamic leader for the School of Business,” said Moman. “We are pleased to have her continue her work at Ivy Tech in this new capacity.”

Handy brings 11 years of experience in higher education to the position. She began her career as the distance education coordinator at Indiana State University and then served as acting vice chancellor of student affairs at Ivy Tech Community College – Bloomington. Prior to these positions, Handy worked at Cummins, Inc., for nine years in numerous leadership roles.

Handy earned a doctorate in educational leadership from Indiana State University, a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management, Marketing, and Distribution from Indiana University.
