Indianapolis-based DEFENDER Direct says founder Dave Lindsey is returning to the company as president and chief executive officer. He replaces Marcia Barnes, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities.

Indianapolis, Ind. — DEFENDER Direct, a leader in home services including security, heating, cooling and plumbing, today announced executive leadership changes including the return of company founder Dave Lindsey as President & CEO. Additionally, the company has named Brad Cumings as Chief Marketing Officer and has promoted Scott DeNardin to the role of Regional Vice President of its HVAC business division. Lindsey replaces Marcia Barnes, who has left the company to pursue other business interests.

“The board and I are grateful for Marcia's 13 years of leadership in the company, which helped us achieve our strong growth,” said Lindsey. “Our company is at an exciting point in its journey and I look forward to continuing that momentum.”

Lindsey founded DEFENDER Direct in 1998. Under his leadership, DEFENDER has been named the number one ADT dealer, one of Indy's Top 25 Fastest Growing Private Companies, and to Inc. 500's List of Fastest Growing Companies.

Brad Cumings brings experience in managing multiple brands, transforming established brands, leading integrated marketing strategies and developing customer service channels – attributes that will translate into success in his new role at DEFENDER. Prior to joining the company, Cumings served as a Chief Marketing Officer within The ServiceMaster Co., where he successfully led record performance and marketing strategies for subsidiaries TruGreen and Terminix.

As DEFENDER’S Regional Vice President of HVAC, DeNardin will lead all operations for the HVAC business divisions from the corporate headquarters in Indianapolis. He will focus on driving uniform process development for the division which includes recently acquired Williams Comfort Air.
