Baseball Team Shopping Stadium Naming Rights

The owners of South Bend's minor league baseball team are working on a big business deal. The South Bend Silver Hawks say money from the potential sale of naming rights at Coveleski Stadium would be re-invested into the facility. Team President Joe Hart says the process is still in the early stages. Hart says the organization will "certainly take a look" at any potential investor, national or local.

An agreement with the city stipulates that either "Coveleski Stadium" or "The Cove" must be part of any future name.

He believes the Silver Hawks are a "linchpin" of downtown revitalization. Hart says businesses follows "where there is density and people," and the more the team can draw, the more South Bend benefits.

Owner Andrew Berlin bought the team from former Indiana Governor Joe Kernan in 2011.

Shortly after taking over, Berlin invested more than $2 million of his own money into a $4 million round of renovations.

He is also a part-owner of the Chicago White Sox Major League club.
