Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) is looking to hire nearly 100 employees for a location set to open this fall on the west side of Indianapolis. The company will host a job fair next week in Speedway.

WHERE:

Speedway Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), www.speedwaychristian.org 5110 West 14th Street in Speedway. Enter at the north doors at Winton and 15th.

WHAT: Walmart will hire up to 95 associates for the new Walmart Neighborhood Market opening this fall on the Indianapolis west side at I-465 and 10th St. A Neighborhood Market is a smaller Walmart store which offers a convenient way to pick up fresh groceries and household items at the same every day low prices. Each Walmart Neighborhood Market is about 40,000 square feet.

Through Walmart's Veterans Welcome Home Commitment, the company will offer a job to any qualified veteran who has been honorably discharged within the past 12 months. Interested veterans may find out more at http://walmartcareerswithamission.com. Veterans must be within 12 months of active duty and meet Walmart’s standard hiring criteria.

Walmart provides benefits programs for eligible full- and part-time associates. For example, the company provides a variety of affordable health and well-being benefits including health-care coverage with no lifetime maximum. Walmart also offers eligible associates matching 401(k) contributions of up to six percent of pay, discounts on general merchandise, an Associate Stock Purchase Program and company-paid life insurance. Additionally, eligible associates receive a quarterly incentive based on store performance.

The majority of new associates will begin work in August to help prepare the store for its grand opening.

In addition to the community job fair, a temporary hiring center has opened in the Walmart store at 3221 W. 86th St., Indianapolis. Applications are accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Interested applicants may also apply online at http://careers.walmart.com.
