The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce is now offering an online job recruiting tool to member businesses with fewer than 30 employees. The announcement involves access to the chamber's NationJob program. July 9, 2013

News Release

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce announced today its participation in a community-wide workforce development program, NationJob. The central focus of this initiative is to attract the best candidates for employment opportunities in the Terre Haute community. The program is designed for both large and small business participation, with any Chamber member with less than 30 employees being able to participate completely free of charge.

“This value added program for our members will save them time and money in finding qualified

employees,” stated Ken Brengle, Terre Haute Chamber of Commerce President and CEO.

“NationJob is a proven program with over twenty-years of experience working with various community organizations across the country. They are a national Internet recruitment site offering regional and national recruiting reach to a broad spectrum of area businesses.” The Terre Haute job site can be accessed at www.terrehautechamber.com, then clicking on the “Local Job Site” button on the main page.

Currently, 13 local companies are featured employers in the program, including: ADVICS

Manufacturing Indiana, L.L.C., Cadillac Products Packaging Company, Clabber Girl Corporation,

Columbian Home Products, LLC, Green Leaf, Inc., Hamilton Center, Inc., Harrison College,

Indiana State University, Old National Bank, Taghleef Industries, Inc., Thompson Thrift, Tri

Aerospace and Union Hospital.

“Due to the support from our featured employers, Chamber member businesses with 30 or less

employees are now eligible to use the program for free,” Brengle explained.

Since the program's start in April of this year, over 300 local jobs have been posted on the

website. Those local jobs have been viewed in excess of 62,000 times and 1,420 jobs have been clicked on to submit a resume or apply for the job, according to statistics provided by

NationJob.

“NationJob has already proven to be a valuable resource for Thompson Thrift in the relatively

short time it has been available to us and other businesses in Terre Haute,” explained

Thompson Thrift Human Resources Manager Mary Wheeler. “Not only has it made it easier for

us to identify and locate the best talent in the Wabash Valley and the rest of the state, it has

allowed us to cast a wider net in searching for new employees. This has been tremendously

important for our company as it has grown and expanded in scope. We're grateful to the

Chamber of Commerce for offering this very beneficial service.”

In addition to its main website, NationJob services include over 40 niche sites dedicated to

specific types of job openings, The PJ Scout service (Personal Job Scout reaching over a million

job seekers with new jobs) and “Tell a Friend” – a free service for trailing spouses and

extensively used by colleges and alumni groups to encourage former students to return to the

Terre Haute community.
